MOTIONS PASSED BY THE 1981 ANNUAL BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING OF LIBERAL RELIGIOUS YOUTH IN RESPONSE TO COMMON GROUND 8/16-8/219 1981
MOVED that the 1982 Annual Board of Directors Meeting vote to dissolve Liberal Religious Youth, Inc. as of December 31, 1982.
WHEREAS: LRY's summer Board of Directors of 1980 has previously agreed unanimously to give the "Common Ground Baby" LRY's assets
WHEREAS: this B.O.D. of 1981 feels that it is very important to attach a clear statement of LRY's support to this new organization
WHEREAS: presently there is no such statement of support, and there are no stipulations attached to the donation of LRY's assets
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: that at the LRY 1981 Winter B.O.D. meeting that an agenda item should be added to the schedule which would include time for drafting a clear statement of support as well as some broad limitations on the use of LRY's assets which the LRY B.O.D. shall decide upon at that time.
MOVED that the last election for LRY Executive Committee positions shall be held at the 1981 Winter Board of Directors Meeting.
MOVED that Youth Caucus at General Assembly 1983 be planned and organized by the Consultant on Youth Programs and the Continental Youth Adult Committee if the "Common Ground Baby" isn't operational. The final decision on this should be left up to the Consultant on Youth Programs.
MOVED that all future Youth Caucuses beginning with GA 1984 should be planned and organized by "Common Ground Baby."
MOVED that although the LRY Continental Conference is a financially self-perpetuating conference, the LRY Board does not consider it to be a politically independent entity.
MOVED that the intention of the LRY Board is that there be one Unitarian Universalist sponsored Continental Youth Conference by the summer of 1983.
