APPENDIX C
CREATIVE IDEAS FROM CIRCLE GROUPS

  1. The creation of a Continental Youth Consultant Network (1-7). Part/Full time staff people located around Central providing services, programs & support to District YACS, Federations and local group.

  2. Info-Exchange. Group 10 - We suggest and see a strong need for a central clearing house/library for the exchanging of ideas, i.e.: program ideas, U.U. youth philosophies, program activity outlines, and advisor information.

  3. Group 13 - The focus of the organization should recognize the distinct psychological, physical and maturational needs of high school age people. Focus should be assumed by limiting leadership to high school age (14 to 18).

Restated: Youth participation shall be 13 to 19, leadership eligibility shall run from 14 to 18.*

  4. Have an apprentice type system between the oldest members and the youngest. That way the older leave their incentive with the youngest, making the group stronger.

  5. Group 8 proposes that a caucus of college aged youth and other interested persons meet to discuss programs for such youth and possibly, to send recommendations to the common group planning committee and then to the Unitarian-Universalist Association Board of Trustees.

*This idea was suggested by group 13 before the assembly voted to expand the age range of the youth organization to 12-22 years.
